Appointment information: New clients should call our
office for screening, advice, and referral.
Services offered: Free civil legal services to
low-income individuals. Priorities are housing, public
benefits, utilities, domestic violence, special education
and rights of disabled. Office also is site of Title
III-funded Senior Citizens Legal Services unit, serving
seniors in seven-county area without fee. Approximately 90
area lawyers participate in office’s Pro Bono Lawyers are
made through the Land of Lincoln Office as a part of regular
intake procedures.
Persons served: Low income residents of St. Clair and
Monroe counties. Senior citizens and nursing home residents
in St. Clair, Monroe, Madison, Bond, Randolph, Washington,
and Montgomery counties. Murphysboro office serves Randolph
and Perry counties. Mt Vernon office serves Washington
County.
Fees: None. Maximum income guidelines for most
programs.

Services offered: Financial assistance program to
assist with the cost of chemotherapy drugs, radiation, and
transportation to and from treatment. Extensive educational
literature available. Family support groups and one-on-one
peer support (usually by telephone) are also available.
Persons served: Anyone touched by leukemia, lymphoma,
Hodgkin’s disease, myeloma, and other blood-related
cancers. Chapter area includes southern Illinois, Eastern
Missouri; and Arkansas.

Information: LINC is a not for profit,
non-residential center for independent living managed by and
for persons with disabilities. The purpose of the center is
to enable persons with disabilities to gain effective
control and direction of their own lives and create a more
accessible and inclusive community for all.
Services offered: Peer support, advocacy, information
and referral, training in independent living skills and
Personal Assistant services. Other services offered
include: sign language interpreting, support group meetings,
architectural accessibility surveys and community education
programs on disability awareness. For more information,

Persons served: Any person with a disability in St.
Clair, Monroe and Randolph counties.
Fees: Most services are free of charge.

Information: Local Interagency Councils (LICS) have
been established throughout Illinois. Parents are working
together with specially trained staff to create greater
possibilities for children and families in their
communities.
Services offered: The goal of the Local Interagency
Council is to identify and improve Early Intervention
Services within the community and make them accessible to
young children and their families. Members include Early
Intervention Programs 0-3, Early Childhood Programs 3-5,
health care professionals, school representatives, and
various service organizations.
Persons served: Families with children ages birth-2
who are identifies as needing early intervention services or
have questions regarding child development.

adoption, home-based and foster care services. Services
for families: individual, marital and family counseling;
Family Life Education; pregnancy counseling. Services
for the Community: Fathers’ Center; individual, marital,
family and group counseling; educational and vocational
services; food and clothing distribution; Nice Twice Resale
Shop. Camp Wartburg: Summer camp, retreats, day
camps, picnics and swim parties.
Persons served: All people with demonstrated needs
are eligible for services, regardless of race, religion or
financial means.
