Services offered: BEACON of Belleville is an organization of local churches operating as a social outreach clearinghouse.  Link people in need with church volunteers for person to person help.  The process includes verification of need, analysis of the kind and extent of need, referral to appropriate resources and follow-up.  The purpose is not to duplicate or complete with existing services, but to support and enhance the community service network.

Services offered: Education and training – courses on aging at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.  Graduate level Interdisciplinary Graduate Certificate in Gerontology.  Short-term training in gerontology in the form of workshops, conferences, colloquia, in-service sessions and lecture series.  Through the Illinois Missouri Geriatric Education Center, the Gerontology Program provides geriatric education and training to health professionals and educators in southern Illinois.  Public service programs for older adults.  Dialogue with Senior Citizens, Annual Senior Citizens Fair and lecture series and courses designed for older adults.

Services offered: The Senior AIDES Program provides employment and training opportunities in St. Clair and Madison counties to individuals who are age 55 and older and fall within income eligibility guidelines.  Employment counseling, job readiness skills, and referral services are also available to all seniors.

Circuit Breaker Assistance – tax relief.
Counseling and Referral – personal and family issues.
Wellness Clinic - health screening, classes and support groups.

Senior Aides – employment training for low-income residents aged 55 or older.
Senior Companions – companionship and respite provided by peers aged 60 or older.
Foster Grandparents – senior volunteers work with children.
